A family-owned, a family-run café, that’s enough evidence of how warm West Café is, which is located on the west of Aizawl city, opposite Government West College. This charming cafe opened in January 2017, gaining fair popularity within a few months of being in the business.
West Café aims to stray away from the standardized restaurant idea with a homely, undone vibe, wherein people can come to enjoy food prepared by chefs who use local ingredients to give their dishes that extra edge. They are given creative freedom, taking spin on the otherwise mundane menu we see everywhere else.

The cafe has an oriental and a continental menu, both prepared separately by two highly seasoned chefs. It is still in its nascent stage, “It is still not what I intended it to be but we are getting there,” says Angela, the co-owner. The café still has a long way to go with potential expansion. “We hope to include an Indian menu in the near future,” she says on being questioned about the future plans for the café.
