Organised by Everything Outdoor, people across all age groups in Guwahati will come together to participate in the Guwahati Cyclothon on 12 March, to promote cycling as a new concept of recreation for not just physical well-being, but also mental wellness. The sole aim of the organiser is to educate people about the increasing traffic and pollution in the city, coupled with parking issues; and build cycling tracks in the city to encourage cycling as a new means of transport.
Everything Outdoor said, “Cycling in India is considered a poor man’s transports, rich man’s hobby and old man’s medical activity. We want to change this perception. Cycling is the best exercise that helps save non-renewable fuel and control pollution, creating a much greener environment to live in.”
They added, “The idea behind organising this event is to present a platform, where they can show their care for mother nature.”
